Centre Manager and Youth Worker Posts – We are hiring!

BYPC is looking for two people who can fill the role of Centre Manager and Youth Worker. These are both part time posts (25 hours per week). If you think you could fill one of these roles, read on!

YOUTH WORKER
We’re an established youth charity in Braintree, Essex, working out of the youth centre called The Hut, to reach young people 11-18, no matter what their beliefs, background or needs. Our vision is to be a Christian organisation offering a caring and safe community in which young people are respected, valued and offered opportunities.

You’ll work alongside others, including a Centre Manager and Board, who take care of much of the administration and practical running of the centre with the intention of freeing the youth worker and volunteers, to undertake and enjoy their work with young people.

We are supported by the majority of churches in the Braintree area, as well as a number of secular organisations.

The successful applicant will:
• Work with young people, supporting them, building relationships that help them to develop personally, emotionally, relationally and, where appropriate, spiritually.
• Support, equip and partner with our significant team of volunteers in their work with young people, to deliver sessions, events, trips and opportunities.
• Make the most of new opportunities to grow the work of the charity with a possible view to increase the scope of the role of youth worker.

A genuine occupational requirement exists for the post holder to be a Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Closing date for applications: 23rd October 2017

Interviews: 8th November 2017

For an application pack, including job description and person specification, email contact@braintreeyouth.org.uk or call 01376 323764.

CENTRE MANAGER
We’re looking for a Centre Manager to work alongside a Youth Worker, Volunteers and the Board. You will administer and manage much of the work of the charity to enable effective work with a variety of young people and partners. Whilst this is not a youth work post, a desire to support and help young people is necessary to the role.

The successful applicant will:
• Administer the charity and property, creating and maintaining an effective hub for its work.
• Manage the Youth Worker, supporting them administratively to help them work successfully with young people, to make the most of every opportunity.
• Support the volunteers and Board in their work for the charity.
• Work to improve and maintain effective communication in all aspects of the life of the charity.

A genuine occupational requirement exists for the post holder to be a Christian in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Closing date for applications: 23rd October 2017

Interviews: 31st October 2017
